The gripper shaft on the stopper can pop out of position. On the attachment, look at #6, that shaft with both grippers on seats into a holder on both sides.

            Alternative Solution!!!
We had a tech come out from Pacific Automation to work on the unit as it was doing the same thing but even had pushed the fold askew a bit. The tech did a cleaning all around on various rollers and found it would only jam when stapling the booklet but as w/out stapling it folded 100% okay. The tech didn't have any more time to stay and had to get going, letting us know he would be back at a later date. So this morning knowing it was something to do with the staples pulled the staple cartridges and found one had a jammed staple in it. We removed it, cleaned the staple cartridge holder and put them back in. They ran several test prints and SUCCESS! Problem Solved!
