    [Misc] Konica Minolta 654e - E3-01

    Getting E3-01 in Konica Minolta 654e (B&W).

Kindly advise if it needs to upgrade the firmware.

    Thanks and Regards,

Updating F/W is always a good place to start with those odd codes. Also check if any bulletins specific for that code.

Check that correct memory is installed or replace memory

Do a memory test in service mode.

With the most recent firmware installed we have almost completely eliminated the E3-01 codes on our 4 series machines. Now (but very infrequently) occasionally a print job still throws the code.

As other have said, firmware needs to be updated. In the early days, those errors would show up constantly in the logs. There was a firmware update released that specifically addressed this error. There has been a few more updates since that time, so if you can get your hands on the latest, you will be all set.
