    Konica 654e and SMB1.0

I'm trying to disable it on my domain but not sure if this model Konica can support SMB2/3. When I login and head to "In the administrator mode, select [Network] - [SMB Setting] - [Client Setting] I have a few drop down options but none mention SMB versions. Am I looking int the wrong spot or is this unit not capable of anything greater than SMB 1.0

You need to update the firmware & turn on function version 7 (the latest) to enable SMB v2/3

Can I update the firmware myself? I was under the impression I'd need to contact the vendor to send a tech to do that?

Technically yes you'll need to book a KM tech to update it for you.

However it is very simply to do as an end user, we can supply it should you wish to do this yourself etc.

Does Series 4 also have SMB3.0?
          Or just 4e?

The 4e series can be locked in at smb 2.0 with GDB fw iirc. And bit sw 219? I think?
I posted the info somewhere here on this site.
If it's a 4 Series no e then the ver up fw is there but not sure if it can be locked in at 2.0
Non e machines are very discontinued and should be upgraded. It's not your fault the tech and security levels changed over the years.
When your kid outgrows his sneakers do you cut open the front of the shoes or just buy new ones?.
Today's tech has outgrown the machine and presents a great opportunity to upgrade the machine.

We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
                The medication helps though...

This is true. I am one who often changes in new technologies. But my customer are not of the same opinion. The more the price is reduced, the more the product is of quality. Sometimes, in order to sell at all costs, commercials prefer to sell these "old" printers. Those who will have to jump through hoops will be us technicians.
