Just remember to remove the dual scan board and select single sided feeder in tech rep.We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.

DF-701 dead with C-9403, black (displayport) cable replaced, CIS replaced, small PWB near CIS replaced, suspected DS board.
Yes, there is the entry DF-624. I'll try and report it ;-)
Of course, board removed. Now ADF works as platen cover.Comment

The DF 701 was the standard ADF on this machine..There were no dual scan feeders until you got to the C652 DS and you do not have the option for selecting which ADF in service mode..IMHO (as I would never even think of trying something like this) unless you can pull the wiring diagrams and be sure that at least the power wiring is the same, you may wind up blowing a power supply by doing this. The 652 came with a feeder that's why there is no choice.
A 454 though you do.

Synth I am looking at the installation instructions for the c454..There is no ADF choice for this..It came with the 701 and that's it..I think if you plug in a 624 at best it won't work. The 652 came with a feeder, no choice, the C652 came as single pass or dual scan C652DS, again no choice on the feeders.Comment

Seems to me, a few years ago...we had 3 or 4 that were throwing document feeder codes and it turned out we simply had to re-format the hard drive. I know, I know, it seems a little crazy but it worked. And codes never returned.Comment

my apologies, the 454 is part of the 554 series which yes, only had 1 feeder option.
i was thinking the 8 series, the 308 - 558 has 2 choices of ADFs. the 658/758/808/958 had only 1 feeder that came with it.

no need..you almost had me convinced..I was just trying to keep the OP from throwing a 624 on this machine and possibly blowing it up..I know it's all about saving $$$ but km accessories are not usually able to go from family to family. EComment

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
