[Electrical] Bizhub c3350 No POST/Orange light

    Hi all,

New to this forum but have been working on printers since StyleWriters existed. I just acquired a Bizhub c3350 that will not POST. Blue power LED lights, status indicator is orange; scanner initializes, HDD initializes, and fans come on. No response to any front panel buttons.

When fully assembled with the side panel removed, I hear a faint ticking. Blue LED on mainboard is illuminated. So far, I've tried removing all connectors but power, no change, unit will not post. With CN502 disconnected, ticking stops. I've inspected both the main board and power supply board for obvious burned components or vented caps, but no visual cues. My first guess is a power problem, but I haven't found a service manual or other voltage measurement info.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this unit? Are there any common failures? I am comfortable soldering and performing component level repairs. Grateful for any advice.

    Thanks!

Not sure what you mean with machine will not "post", do you mean will not print? The ticking is normal and that noise is from the fuser rollers. Very common. With those lights lit it could be something as simple as one or more of the supplies have reached end of life. Get a service manual, go into service mode and initalize the machine.

      Hi Copyman,

Thanks for your reply. By post I mean power on self-test - the machine doesn’t appear to ever boot or initialize itself. The display remains black and does not respond to any button presses.

i haven’t yet located a service manual for this machine. I did find a suggestion online to hold the reset key while turning the power rocker switch on, however, the machine doesn’t respond to that, either.

      Thank you!

Those displays are known to go bad. If you PM me your email will send you the service manual. At least you can see what voltages are suppose to be at certain connector pins.

turn it on, while holding down the sub power button, the one on the side of the display, let us know the status of the 3 lights, this with give an indication of what might be wrong ,
