    KM751i with or without Fiery

    Hey Everyone,

As an end-user who is looking into new lease, would I get values from having Fiery controller included?
    Thanks!

if you plan on using MACs yes, if its to be used for pay4print yes.
i love Fierys for the ability to tweak colors and highlights, and even change page order with preview.
you can also transfer big jobs to the Hold queue and apply print settings there. no need tying up your computer rendering the print job.
if none of this applies to its intended use, then no. i wouldnt bother unless it was free.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

Black and White? No, I wouldn't get a Fiery. Color and you're making your own advertising material or printing a lot of graphics, it might be worth it. One caveat, even with a Fiery it's not a production machine.

just for reference, the ic-420 Fiery and IF kit lists for like 4500 dollars, if its only 1 or 2 hundred dollars more for it, id get it but im Fiery biased.
i have 5 old fierys i converted 3 to a regular PC and the 2 ic-413s still run fiery v 1.0 one of them hosts my website!

Thanks for all inputs. Wow I didn't know Fiery units can be re-purposed as a standalone PC! 😅 I'll keep that in mind lol.
For the quoted fiery, I only received a price for the add-on but there's no information on Fiery unit. I'll contact the quoter and inquire about it and see if it comes with a IF model or not.

            👍👍

windows based fierys are easily converted to PC only, i never tried converting a linux based fiery.

No, I don't think there is any value in adding a Fiery. It's an over priced option. Most of my customers wish they never let the sales person talk them into adding to lease. Plus if the sales person really screwed you with a fair market or 10% buyout lease the Fiery will add to that buyout price which is always ridiculously high to begin with!

You can always add the Fiery later. They are sold used online for under $500 instead of the $4000+ new.
