No the sleep setting shouldn't change on it's own but always turn it off. This suggestion was an after thought to my previous post of checking power supply voltages. The voltage checks should be done before anything else. If you aren't getting fans or motors turning on then you most likely have a bad power supply and can be confirmed by checking for 5 & 24VDC at connector pins posted above. I have replaced a few DCPU's on the 8 series, none on the 4 series.

You would see the LED on the control panel, but the machine would not respond to the soft switch. The machine would respond to the hard switch and re-awaken.
I believe that you'd have to have remote access already set up. Someone else here can answer this question with more detail. If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for all the info, guys!
I'll keep on this on file, and the next time it decides to play dead, I'll know what to check first.
I assume that there's no point in checking those voltages when the machine is working properly, since of course the 5v and 24v would be present now.
If I can get remote access, I'll see if I can check/edit that sleep setting to be off for good, just in case.
EDIT: NVM, I got it I can't recall the service mode password off hand, can someone please PM it to me? I have it recorded somewhere, but it seems to be eluding me at the moment...Comment
