    CE Authentication Hidden

Hello everyone, I noticed that on some 8 Series and i Series printers the CE Authentication option does not appear in the advanced security panel. Can anyone help me solve this mystery?
    Thank you.

I believe it has to be enabled for Remote Panel to work. However, I don't know if enabling Remote Panel would make it disappear.
I'll be honest, I've never seen a machine with that missing before.
Worked in IT for 12 years from Helpdesk up to System Administrator. Now working as the IT Manager at a copier company for the last 4 years.

If I helped you out, please give me a thumbs up! It helps my reputation.

I have seen it on some off lease machines we have received. I do know if you go into Initialize / clear all data, the CE password menu item is back. But I don't know what setting makes it vanish. Perhaps capture the address book and restore after clearing the data.

        7.3.4 CE Authentication

        • It will not be displayed when [Administrator Settings] -> [Network Settings] -> [Remote Panel Settings] -> [Client Settings] is set to “ON.”

I just remote with remote panel client on our and it is there. I never seen it missing. Maybe it's due enhanced security on in admin mode. I will check.
