    C-458 Offset

Does anyone know the cause of this offset? Sometimes stronger, sometimes less. Thanks in advance!

Hopefully, you've already done this, but I'd make sure it has the latest FW. Then replace anything over life, Then carry out initialize and image stabilization , followed by gradation . Then go into machine settings and carry out the colour registration and trail edge adjustments. Though the last time I had to carry out those last adjustments was on a C253 which had 4 separate printheads
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

Does it have slight background before you put new M drum?

I suspected a stiff drum. I cann't hear noises because cochlear implant. But today the offset was the same again for all colors. And after Stabilizer I'm completely at a loss.

You may try to adjust PH skew.

Try cleaning the IDC sensors. That has fixed it for me before.

Apparently the error only occurs when a cassette is changed to thicker paper. Even when printing from another cassette. I did a print head skew adjustment. But I can't say yet whether it works, because the customer is not currently using thick paper.

Now my customer contacted me again. The belt looked terrible. I've had problems with a blocked belt several times before, but I couldn't determine the cause. The attached image is a bit difficult to see due to reflections. Hence the red arrows.

I had an i-series with this same problem, for the life of me I couldn't figure it out. It was intermittent, I could adjust it one day and it could fail as I'm pulling out of the parking lot or it could last a couple days. Another one of our techs went there and he found the 2nd transfer hinge to be off, he loosened the upper hinge plate, closed the right side door, opened it back up and tightened down the 2nd transfer upper hinge. He did say it was making a noise but when I was there I could never hear a noise. All I can think of is it must have been putting too much pressure on the belt causing it to buckle a little and it only effected the Black drum, so the colors are actually in the correct alignment, it's the Black that was off.

What was wrong with the hinge?
The hinge looks like someone painted flowers on it.

Just a curiosity: If it's from a C-458, do you know why the file iD is SKM_224e25021215290 ?
