[Error Code] Konica Minolta Bizhub C284 – Error C165 on ADF DF-701 After Firmware Update

Hello everyone,

I recently updated my Konica Minolta Bizhub C284 to firmware A1610Y0-F000-G20-65-300, and after the update, I started getting error C165 whenever I try to use the ADF DF-701. The document feeder was working perfectly fine before the update, so I suspect it might be a compatibility issue or a communication error caused by the firmware.

So far, I have tried:

• Powering the machine off and on
• Checking all cable connections in the ADF
• Cleaning the sensors in the document feeder
• Resetting the machine via service mode

Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem after updating to this firmware? If so, did you find a fix, or is there a way to roll back the firmware to a previous version?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

isnt there a choice between the single sided feeder and the radf in service mode? maybe the 624 was chosen?

• Unset

• “Unset”

A-HA! it's not an "e" series so thats why the ADF option is not there.
sorry for false hope.

honestly id replace the dscb as ive found them to be the reason for codes at times.
do you have a copy of the FW that worked?
did your machine have the fake firmware on it to emulate an E series and put regular non e on top of it?

i have G00-72 if you want to try it.

fake firmware is a bandaid to allow non e machines to use gmail and other enhancements.
a non e series should not have been able to use gmail ever unless the "fake" FW was applied however this prevents from using the correct firmware unless bit switches were changed back or reset the machine to non e status.
just to ask, what email server is being used? if it was google based and you sent email from it using gmail then the fake firmware had to have been applied at one point..
