    problem ssd konica minolta c250i

    good morning,

    I have a problem with a c250i copier I think it is an ssd problem,
    I tried to copy the content to another hard disk but with the other ssd hard disk (normal 256gb pc hard disk) it does not start it reaches 25% loading and does not start
    does something special need to be done like special formatting?
    I saw somewhere here in the forum that someone had done this thing but I can't find the post.

      ive never encountered a situation where i need to clone a copier HDD. not even sure its possible, there was a big thing about data extraction and security a while back and i was under the impression that there were safeguards to prevent duplication or extraction.
      if there is something on the hdd they want to save its probably gone or inaccessible.
      We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
      The medication helps though...

              So...what is the original problem? Does it make an error code or not boot? SSD failure is a common problem. So common that Konica made a special bootable environment to test for it.

              Konica vendor locks the SSDs. You can not replace it with any random PC one. It has to be a "Konica approved" one. The firmware will install but it will not boot.

              As long as the SSD is good (check S.M.A.R.T. status), and is blank (or at least has a blank partition table) it can be formatted/firmware(os) installed using the firmware updater.
              Worked in IT for 12 years from Helpdesk up to System Administrator. Now working as the IT Manager at a copier company for the last 4 years.

                  Since they came out, I have never ever had to replace an SSD on any of the I series copiers. Formatting in a caddy always fixed the issue.
                  There's a cloning ssd station you can buy, but I don't see any reason to clone a copier ssd.

                      The ones that have the Phison controllers have been bad. Lots of bad blocks ect. The "112-layer" (or whatever Konica calls them) SSDs have been much better.
