    Best small color printer option?

Feedback on what you all use as a small color mfp. We've been using the Konica C3050i series but they are unreliable an need a reccomendation regardless of brand name on a reliable option for our customers that have limited office space. Thank you in advance.

Someone told me the Ricoh C407 series is an ok option. I love full size Konica machines but the small ones are just a terrible disappointment. We have about 30 of those in the field..........

Brother printers. Konica rebrands them at the low end (C3100i, 5000i, 4000i). If you get the Konica versions you get to use the nice Konica drivers vs the trash Brother ones.

They are just printers. They will not scan however. So that may not answer your question. Something like a Brother MFC-L8900CDW or MFC-L3780CDW might work but I don't have one to give any comments on their reliability in a large fleet setting.

The only other thing I have personal experience with is the "1i" version of the C3350i family. The 1i version hasn't given us any issues yet but I fear they are too new to tell at this point.

If I helped you out, please give me a thumbs up! It helps my reputation.

Stay away from HP unless the Enterprise series. They are getting worse & worse. 3 things come to mind, built cheap and lucky to get 2-3 years out of them, OEM toners can cost $200 each! And to make it worse if you decide to save money and use aftermarket toners when automatic F/W update is done it locks out machine because of the aftermarket toners. There is a pending lawsuit vs HP because of this. Personally I would stick with a Kon/Min small model, "i" or "1i" series, mostly because I'm familiar with Kon/Min line and can get support.
Be aware that a lot of Canon "small" models are same as HP. Many people don't know Canon & HP are in bed together making same equip & toners.

Just a side note, I do like the HP Pagewide. I've replaced all the wide format Kip's with them and working great. Who ever thought I would sell an inkjet, but the pagewide is a different animal.

My only experience with Kyocera is with their small mono models. The few I service are good small machines. Had one that ran to 100k before needing a drum. Don't see that much in small models because the OEM's want to sell consumables!!!

No experience myself, but heard from a very professional IT-Guy, who is working exclusively for hospitals, that in general Brother (yuk) is the choice.....
