SMTP is crippled, ya gotta jump through firmware hoops just for SMB 2.0 scanning and the possibility of email.
how attached are you to this machine?
you can try the nuke file but must have firmware and movie data ready as well as the correct machine and type to enter after nuke procedure but before firmware install.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.

You are stuck at step 11 in the boot-up troubleshooting guide. Try removing the optional RAM stick if you have it. You may also want to try to re-flash the firmware. See image below.
