    C3351

Is there an interlock on the ADF for the C3351? Looked in service manual and couldn't find anything. Customer says if they lift ADF and place original on glass to make a copy the first page exits fine, when they lift ADF to place next orig on glass message comes up "componet open" and machine wont reset for a while, they try opening all doors & covers, turning off and on main switch does not reset message. This happens intermittently and only when placing orig on glass. ADF works fine once you get machine reset and ready to copy. I have a C3350 in shop and ADF looks the same but looking in parts manuals they have different part #. But most of the parts are the same. Has anyone here ever tried a C3350 ADF on a C3351?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks king !!! Looking at 3350 I have in shop it apprears interlock works on gravity and why no actuator. The top of ADF cover has to come off to see sensor & actuator.

I went onsite to see what is going on. Turns out if the ADF pick up rollers do not return to home position after two tries the message comes up "componet open" with no indication what is open. It was intermittent because sometimes they returned to home position, but when customer lifted lid to copy off glass the rollers dropped. I'm guessing I need to replace the lift clutch?
Any one see where the ADF rollers will not return to home position?
        Thanks again for the help.
