[Error Code] Persistent Error Code C-5102 on KM B554e

    Good day,

I am having a problem with my B554e KM, it shows a C-5102 error, I have changed the M1 motor twice now. When i changed it the first it immediately displayed the error but then I ran an initialization which worked for a bit. Then after a day the customer calls complaining of the same error again. Anyone ever come across such an issue?

    Regards,

Is this the motor that you changed?:

If it's not motor M1 or damaged wiring, then it must be the PRCB. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Keep in mind that M1 drives the K drum, and several other gears that drive K dev unit, Trans belt, Reg roller. I would look for any intermittent binding of these items that would cause the C-5102 trouble code. Would start by lubing the registration roller bushings and checking trans belt clean unit, etc for bad gears.

I use to replace bad M1 motors a lot with the old machines like the C253 but not that often from the C220 series on. Out of one hundred 224e & C224e series I service maybe have replaced two M1 motors. Just don't see them go bad that often.

Last week I was on a C227. The error code was C2253. The work was 1500 A4 75gm. It showed error C2253. I noticed that the M2 motor was the same for the M1 motor. I reversed the motors and the error changed to transport. C5102. I replaced the motor and the error has not come back. I checked all UI and gearset. Everything is OK

Thank you for response, I will do that and see if the problem still persists. Otherwise I will end up just having to change the board.

Are you suggesting that I try and swap the motors?

                If they're the same, yes.

Note if there is anything in the transport that could be weighing the engine down.
I discovered in another case, on the shaft of the transport register there was a completely dirty bushing, making the register spin very hard and causing an error. This type of problem damages engines like the one we are talking about.
