    C458 fuser lamps & C3725 codes

C3725 is main heater abnormally high temp. So I'm hoping on tomorrow's call I find a paper jammed in the fuser or wrapped or a dirty thermistor... My question is what are you all doing to r/b these fusers? The only difference we see is the C458 press roller is larger than the C224e/C368 press, so we can't r/b it with Copylite or Katun parts. Anyone know a source for that press roller?
The C458 4-pin connector lamps can be put in any 4e/8 fuser up to 36 ppm speed and it works fine in the C458. I qualify that by saying we don't have them in any place running thick/11x17/heavy toner coverage, so at least at a school that does high volume on 20lb letter paper, they fuse just fine.
If we ever lose a C458 lamp set, we are out of luck?
Too cheap to buy OEM fusers

    Hey Don,

Long time, hope all is well.

Did you try to reset code yet? Most of the time I'm able to reset that code and will be fine. it's a common false code from elec spikes, etc

I haven't rebuilt any of the 8 series yet but have rebuilt the C224,C284,C364 plus the C454 which uses same belt as slower models but a bigger press roller. Is this bigger roller in C454 fuser same as the 8 series? If same they are aftermarket roller available.

I've also swapped lamps between the c224 & C454 fusers by changing the connectors. One lamps cables are slightly shorter but will work.

    Take care

      Frank,
Yes, it's been a busy few years. Up to 6 grands now. Blessed to have them all nearby. I look to my left and to my right and everybody's retired or got a foot out the door! But that's for another thread I guess. Can you believe I'm having my 15 year old granddaughter call me from the teacher's lounge to do a trouble reset & maybe save me a trip? She will be famous if it works! We put no C454's out, so IDK about it's press size. I just used the ~90% accurate vendor listings & saw nothing. I assume, or maybe my previous shop tech found the 45 lamps were higher wattage than 25/30/36, so we swap the 45 whole lamps into the 36 fuser. If we have to, we'll try just the connector. I need to get back on this site more often. Thanks for the tip!
