    C454e & FS536

Think I've seen the older FS534 used on the 8 series but can the newer FS536 be used on the 4 series? Also think I've read not to update finisher firmware when "wrong" finisher is installed as it may become inoperable?

    Thanks

IIRC, you may be able to use that finisher (sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't), but you may not have all the functionality, and you must never update the firmware. It will cease to work. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Re: C454e & FS536

They made a change on the elevator motor from a DC motor to a servo for some reason. I converted a FS534 to a FS536 the other day. Took the board and the new style motor from the FS536SD to the FS534SD.
Had a FS534 in a better condition and had to replace a FS536 that had seen 5 million with wear I did not want to deal with.

Like B.C said the FS534 will work on the 8 series but remove it when doing firmware or you will need undo the firmware somehow.

Can not see why it will not work the other way around but with the same firmware issue. Let us know.
      Whatever
