    [Misc] Image Formation - Voltages...

    Hi All,

I recall reading some really concise information on how the different voltages work. I think it was in training... I kept all the files but I can't find it. Specifically:
KM C3080 or C3070 (or any machine really...)
What does it mean if the grid voltages are higher or lower than the default? IE as the drum is worn, the voltages tend to be set lower to create the same density?
Same question - Bias of Dev, LD Power...

I recall being told if you look at certain voltages in the Process Adjustment part of list output, you can infer certain things..

So does anyone have a PDF or URL suggestion that explains all of that in detail?

    Thanks,
    Stephen

This PDF should be your service manual. Read about Vdc and Vg.
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

I found some hand-waiving discussion but nothing that gets into what higher or lower voltages mean...

      "(8) V0 correction control(a) Purpose

      (b) Method

humidity, and the slide distance of the developer.

external temperature, and the slide distance of the photo conductor."

the grid voltage increases with wear/usage to compensate.
this is why images look like crap when the counters are reset without changing the consumable itself.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
        The medication helps though...

This compensated increase in grid voltage is why developer will dump if drums are way over life. The increased grid voltage shorts out.
