    Dinosaur Part? - c650

I was going to post my fix of the toner drive section repairs just for fun as these machines are all but extinct. However, my last pair of drive units cannot be fixed with my JB Weld method as the housing for the gear shaft itself that has been Thanos'd (or turned into dust for the uninitiated).

See diagram: #5-10 assembly--the shaft that assembly goes on--they eventually break on all colors & K.

Anyone know where I can get these?
The last one I found was on ebay, but it was missing the gear/guide parts (and was expensive). I even asked my used MFP wholesalers for a parts machine which they all found quite amusing.

The dreaded P33 warnings come to mind. Awesome to see you keeping them alive.
It it was not for the poor touch screens on the C252's they would just keep on going forever. The image is still better than the newer machines.
    Whatever

Even the older CF3102 had better print quality than today's models.

The C250 / C252 touch screen was a problem but what was worse was the fuser exit switch actuator & fuser cover breaking. Actuator was sold separately but couldn't really use it because the holders would be broke from heat & customer pulling paper out. So only option was buy a new fuser unit. The next generation C203 series was good but this is when quality started to decline some. Then when the c220 series came out it was beginning of "business color", which is good but no where near the print quality of those early models! Even if the new models have a Fiery the prints can't compete with early models.
