    Black toning whole page

I have a bizhub pro c500 and it was printing just fine then when a new stack of paper was put in it started toning whole page. There is less than 1200 clicks with new developer and charge grid and unit set up. I'm not sure what it could be. I have the manual but as you know there is no troubleshooting section in it so I'm not sure where to start although I suspect the black unit.

    Thanks,

Pull the black unit. If the drum is still covered in toner, then most likely the blade flipped.

partially cover the printhead, if you have a white strip where it's covered.it's the printhead, MFP pcb or the connector between the two. had the same problem on a C352

Well, I figured it out thanks to "fixthecopier". The black drum wiper blade was hardened and wasn't doing it's job. I went ahead and put a new unit in and it's working fine. Now one more question. Is it worth rebuilding the drum unit or should I just forget about it? I can get the units $165.00. Is there good source for parts that won't break the bank?

        Thanks,

We do not rebuild our color units. We reset the chips, and when they fail we put OEM image units in. That is not a bad price if they back up their product.

Thanks. I was pretty sure it wasn't frugal to rebuild. The unit I saw was an OEM unit from copier supply store. Thanks for the information.
