    Vcare Woes

I have a singular machine at a customer's place that refuses to initially connect with Vcare. Customer has four other identical machines that are all reporting as they should be. I have quadruple checked my com server ID, my sign-in information, and everything else. It will not connect. Everytime I initialize it, it always says job complete, then BAM no e-mail. I'm at my wit's end trying to figure this one out. Is there anything that I am missing? Tips or tricks to get this thing to work? If it helps, it is a BH C360i.

    Thanks in advance!

Maybe buggy firmware. By initialization do you mean you did clear all data (initialize all)?

Have you checked the port number in vcare in the server settings? I normally have to change it manually to 80, do a ram clear and data initilization. It works after that.

I don't initialize the whole machine. Just the Vcare portion.

Yeah, I have set the port to 80. I have tried multiple times. Nothing seems to get through. It still always gives me the connected message though. Strange.

Then I would definitely backup all and go for it.

Are you using HTTP or Email?
              Does your initial connect pass?
What com server is it registered to?
have you ever changed a board that might have corrupted the S/N or mac address?
Can you get out to the marketplace?
Are you setting schedule 1 to a specific time and schedule 2 and 3 to OFF?
Is DNS configured correctly in the network settings?

Just a couple of ideas...the new devices come defaulted to port 443 and must be changed

You could also try the Vcare connection checker app. You can download it from mykonicaminolta.com if you have access. load it on a laptop, connect it at the customer site, input all the connection information, server number, port numbers, username and password. can be used to check email, DCA and http.

Make sure firmware is at latest and function level is correct, you could try using port 8080.
Using firefox browser you can go to the My KM site and use the vcare quick search to see if machine is reporting to the vcare site.
