    C558 CL8 replacement

Can the "4" series shortcut procedure to replace CL8 exit clutch work in the "8" series?

Not sure if different but model is actually a C458, I tried to edit but wont allow thread titles to be edited.

    Thanks in advance

I want to say yes. I'm trying to rack my brain though to remember if I've ever replaced that clutch before on an 8-series. The 4- and 8-series models are so similar, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to. I know I've had the whole drive unit out of a number of 558e and 658e's. There are only minor differences in the design so I'm going to give you an 80% yes vote on that. Hopefully someone can confirm though.

      I think so.
But also I also think that it's not the same part number for CL8 as in 4 series. Check parts manual.

Different clutch but the procedure is the same. I’ve done quite a few over the years.

i just had to do one today on a C558.
The part number for he clutch is A64JM20000.
The shortcut procedure works, once you get all of the rear covers out of the way.

I installed clutch today. It was the same procedure as 4 series. Shortcut is real time saver. Thanks again to everyone who replied.
