doc feeder 704 vs 629 bizhub 658e

ok so in the manual it shows you can use either the standard dual scan doc feeder or... the 629 which typically goes on the 368 series

I went into settings and specified it was the correct feeder. b ut it poped a 6002 then its currently stuck on the 6753 code.. which is a problem between the feeder and the lower board am I crazy or does the feeder only use the dual scan taller feeder on this model? or w hat else do I needto do other the nspecify it in adf section system 2? I am still fightin another copier 2557 tis the season. lol

As far as I know the 458e and above came from the factory with DF already installed and you can't use any other DF on them.

the single sided feeder will only work if the duplex scan board for the 704 is removed first.
cant leave it on the machine.
(if indeed that's the case)

I agree - even if you tell the device there's no document feeder, I seem to remember, as long as that board is there, it'll look for it

I do not like that doc feeder because of the pin that bends and totally screws evertying up

ok I removed the back lower cover and the pwb metal cover removed that board. bingo we have a working 629 on a 558e I am excited as I can have an option when those big doc feeders break. my customers dont care if its a single pass or not. as long as it works.. thanks for all the information and clarification on this doc feeder hopefully someone else will also benefit from this post.. it absolutely works.

the 6753 code was too familiar, glad it was that simple!!!
