It come to my mind i see same problem recently with c224e.
Problem was broken "teeth" on machine cover part and door can not fully lock when closed.
Check that part, i see this broken few times on this machines.

along the same lines as this check the idler rollers in the door .I've seen where they are dislodged. try cheating the side door interlocks and feeding a sheet, see if it is in fact feeding and the double feed system is pulling it back in.

Update of the information, the printer, remove this motor that goes in the part of the pfu (attached images) and removing it, tray 1 works perfectly, I suppose that the motor or the power that the power supoly or the board sends to it can no longer handle so much weight, I suppose?
