C-450i accordian jam at fuser entrance , J-3003 code

This C450i jam at fuser rollers (not turning), no errors message or indication prior to problem. It worked until midday then started showing J-3003 codes until they requested service. Can manualy turn fuser roller shaft checking for binding or if overloading the motor, tested fuser in another which unit, it passed prints with no errors. Placed a mark on the fuser drive wedge to verify fuser motor drive is turning on and attempting to engage the fuser roller. It shows rotation. I have used a flat head screw driver to add more pressure to the spring. Checked the pressure roller cam drive to verify it engages the pressure roller.

Because this client is a per call and I am not wanting to order parts (fuser drive motor) not required, I an asking for ideas. Yes i have opened a case with support, thus far not much help.

I had a similar issue with a c300i recently with the j3003, paper would stop every single time as it just got part way through the fuser, almost reaching the paper exit section, i tried multiple parts, in the end it was caused by the baseboard, once replaced it worked fine right away.

Check if the registration sensor flag is not stuck or use sensor check in service mode.
Is there any image on the page and registered correctly?

I had the same problem but in 8 series it was a Cl8 in fusing drive section

Remove and clean the registration section, clean the rollers, bearings etc. Clean the registration clutch. If cleaning doesn't solve your jamming I would first replace the registration clutch. It's a timing issue so anything that could possibly slow the paper down before the fuser loop sensor (PS2) could be at fault, or PS2 itself.

Had it where the entire registration unit casing become warped. Only way to tell was to remove it and lay it flat on a desk. If so replace whole assembly.

Thank you all for replying. Here is what solved my problem. I must admit I felt like a rookie upon discovering the cause.

Discovered torn image belt at root of jamming. It gave no indication of torn belt during warmup and prediagnostic, going to ready within spec. No SC's logged prior to failure or when in operation and jam occuring as paper arrived at fuser rollers. Prior models would feed upto the image belt then jam or an sc would generate for failure density check. Not in this case, which is why felt drive had to be the problem. When checking the logs no sc were noted on the J30 codes.
Recently had to replace the display (boot to black screen), Did firmware then. It at the latest as of 02/24.
