Konica Minolta Bizhub C203 Wide White Streak over black toner

Hi,

I have been experiencing these white gradients over the K toner.

I've replaced the imaging unit, but the streak remains in the same place. It also doesn't appear on the other colours.

I have attached a scan of prints from both imaging units.

Is there something else that needs to be replaced or cleaned?

Put windex on cleaning rod and clean printhead/ laser. Think it's a print head on this old girl

Thanks for the speedy reply!

I have tried the blue pull rods to clean the lens before - although now I'm unsure if I am actually cleaning the lens with those rods.

I attached a foam pad to a rod and pushed it through the square hole at the bottom - I thought this was a waste toner shute.

Did another test print and another line appeared, I tried cleaning with the rod again and it has now reverted back to the same single line.

I apologise, I feel like I am missing something...

Blue rod is corona cleaner not printhead cleaner.

It looks like your cleaning wand is missing. It should be attached to the front door, right along the edge closest to the main body.

Anyway, that is the wrong hole for cleaning the laser glass. This is the correct hole, one for each of the image units:

Ah! It was hard to spot!

I ended up cleaning the transfer roller too - I'm back in action again, although I think the transfer belt will be next to replace.

Thanks so much to both of you for your help.

Picked up this C203 from the side of the road and multiple techs said it wasn't worth fixing, but I've had at least 2-3 years out of it printing record covers and labels. It's great that there are resources like this which help extend it's life.
