Installation of YSoft card readers on Bizhub

    Dear KM Gurus,

I have been tasked with installing USB card readers for user authentication on our BizHub 257/258 MFDs. Printing is managed by Papercut which has been confirmed to recognize most all USB readers so I will not be using SafeQ.

    We use
MiFare cards and I am leaning towards Y Soft MFX or the V2/V3 reader so was wondering:

Do I need to tweak the MFDs in any way for the readers to work or is this plug and play?

Thanks to all for your help and pointers to a newbie!

1, reader must be compatible with copier. there are quality RFIDEAs readers like BKU version that dont work on konicas, it required ATK version or something.
be careful, not every reader or card will work on the machine, papercut is irrelevant if the card(s)/reader in incompatible.
im just suggesting you be 100% sure the accessories are certified compatible with that exact model(s) copier.
2, a LDD driver must be installed to the copier and follow the configuration steps to marry it to papercut.
3, its possible the LDD will need to be customized or the reader programmed with PCprox.
4, it is not plug and play unfortunately.
billing mode needs to be set correctly with CARD as the auth device.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

Thank you so much for this valuable input.

While cards are definitely compatible with readers under consideration, customization of LDD is above my area of expertise.
Would you have any suggestion / recommendation of readers (and their LDD) known to work on the Bizhub C257/C258?

in almost any bizhub these work.
        AU-205H AU-205H IC Card Reader R5427000136466
Software Downloads | rf IDEAS for configurating software
the LDD needs to be tailored to the model.
you may get lucky and the base LDD works fine too.

i lost my MKM access when i retired/disabled out 20 months ago.

          Hi Synthohol
I have slightly similar issue with 1i series which I installed LDD, enabled the authentication device in the service mode, after machine restart I got a error message "unable to connect to authentication device. Check the connection and turn off the printer and on" I tried turn it off and on again but still got this error message. Even though the LDD is correct one downloaded from NTS.
Any chance you came across this issue?
Thank you in advance for your advice.

iirc there was some application maybe pcprox that creates custom LDDs for the 8 and i series almost 3 years ago, ive been "retired" for a bit and no longer have access to KM website.
sorry, i want to be more help but my hands are tied.
