    Biz C368 trouble code C-D050

Customer said they get C-D050 code a few times a day and they have to turn off and on and it will work for awhile.

I know this has to do with the HDD. I researched looking at bulletins & knowledge base and seems to be something with corrupt data. Showing firmware update, formatting HDD, etc as solution.

Has anyone had this code with bad hard drive? Can I use HDD from a C224e? Account is far away and want to make sure to have HDD with me.

    Thanks in advance

my tried and true method is pop it in a PC or dock, open disk manager find the drive that has like 7 partitions on it and delete the partitions one by one and create one full sized partition but do not format it.
when you put it in the copier you may get the format message or just like a cd-xx error then just logically format it then reboot and install movie data and a fresh copy of the firmware couldnt hurt.

ive used dozens of copier HDDs in Fierys too using the same method.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping the special firmware per bulletin will fix it. If not I will have hdd with me.

Reason I asked if the C224e hdd would work is the C368 has a 250gb and C224e has 320gb.

The color machines do prefer 320s but ymmv.

It is HDD. Put another one or try Synt method.

In my case the device firmware helped with Develop +258. It fixes problems related to the SATA controller. You can check the bulletin "ZEUS S MFPB repair procedure"Error Codes C-D011 / C-D050 / C-FA14"".

UPDATE: Tried the F/W updates per bulletin but didn't work. Exported all data, Installed a used 320gb hdd (from C224e), Did logical format , Imported data, all good now!

Also updated base FW to X4, turned off sleep mode & time adj settings.

              Thanks again for the replies.
