    Firmware Imaging Toolkit

Cannot find. I know I can get it from Onyx as a tech, but trust me, I log in and its not under my search menu as a sales person, all the other software, ftp, anything is there.

    Any links or PM?

    Thanks

I personally never liked the toolkit - unless it has gotten much better since the last time I used it.
I very much prefer mini-cygwin, it is (or used to be) much faster and error-free - why don't you use that instead?

I downloaded cygwin and got it all, but when i go to write the firmware to a drive letter i type in like C:, Non removable, good,

So i type E: (for my CF card) and I get a bunch of crap unreadable txt, not sure if it is a bad install or a bad command but whatever.

You're using Mini-Cygwin or the standard Cygwin? The standard one will not work, AFAIK. You need the mini-cygwin version.

Which version did you use? I have the latest and it works fine. As to where to find it, it should be located with the firmware downloads. Most sales people do not have access but some do.

I only had success with cards from ExtreMemory (or however you write it), 128Mb and 256Mb. Tried it with a Kingston 256Mb without success.

Trouble is, it's hard to find compact flash cards nowadays, and even when you do, rarely they are bellow 2Gb.

True nuff! I have 2 cards (256 and 128mb) and only the 128mb card works on everything! (Its a verbatim cf card!)

                      Regards!

I had an idea: what about a list of known working and non-working CF cards? I started a new thread here. Send your feedback and I'll update it. I'm sure it will come in handy.
