    C280 drawerbase (LCC) jams J15-01

Hi all, has anyone experienced this jam code on this product. I was at one today, very low volume where the paper doesnt quite get to the dfpv roller every 3rd or so copy and calls J15-01. Ive stripped the feed assembly fitted new rollers cleaned the one ways and roughed up the shafts where the one ways run. Ive swapped the drive motors around and still the fault occurrs. Any ideas? Thanks in advance....

Though not specific to this code, the TSB mentions updating the firmware. You could be having an intermittent on PS1 (PF Feed) or PS2 (Vertical Transport) sensors. Check the harnesses up to the boards. Reseat them for that just in case kind of thing. Swap out the board on the tray unit. This "might" also be a similar problem seen on the 253 series LCC, where the two motors and the control board for the LCC needs to be replaced, though there is no mention of this in the TSB for this machine.

This tray is a design that's been around over a decade.

One thing ive seen thats quite common is the lifting platform not being level from front to rear caused by constant dropping in of new packets of paper in a rough manner. This isnt always apparent unless there is weight on it from about a thousand sheets.. Looking in via the side door while the stack is in the lifted state allows you to see if the paper stack is level. It only takes a 2mm discrepancy front to rear to cause take up jams/dog eared sheets on the lower side. Its usually the tabs on the lifting platform that get bent where the lifting wires terminate . . . .
