The machine firmware is different between the KM and IKON versions, as well as the Creo software itself. Not by much, but different.

Last I knew they were not interchangeable.

I could care less about the Creo, that is not the focus...but on a tangent....I looked this up...

[PrintOwners] Creo Rip (IC-301) for Konica-Minolta Bizhub PRO C500

Which seems to indicate there are differences even with the Creo itself.

But that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about the main body of the machine. Just because the Ikon looks like a KM, does not mean they are the same machine. There are HUGE differences between an Ikon C650 and a KM C6500, despite the fact that they physically look the same on the outside.

The same analogy would be that just because Dodge trucks look like Ford trucks, they have 4 wheels, steering wheel, engine, transmission and so on, does not mean you can interchange the motors without a lot of issues.

If that were so, then you would not be having so much difficulty combining the hardware.
