[CQ] KM C450 black image problems

    Hello Everyone,

I have a customer with a C450 Minolta machine, colour prints are fine but when we do 80gsm black only we get some halo's and smudging around the text.

thick paper setting seems to be unaffected, i have changed the fuser loop sensor as i have had that cause this before and the fusing unit is new.

    anyone had this before??

    cheers

First try to wash the black printhead with a moist pad and then clean it dry. The reason why this could affect only one type of paper is because the machine adjusts toner density on heavier papers, so a dirty printhead could not show on heavier paper. If that doesn't work, try to swap the black IU with another (used) one to see if the problem changes.

There was problems with the IU's a while ago, but I agree with mrwho above....A simple clean of the K LED will most likely fix it.
