    ** follow up **

Going in the right direction. After installing the PRCB and loading firmware the color drum motor now spins during initialization, but still errors out with the same error. I'm thinking that the motor speed is being detected on the color drum motor M16 itself. There may have been some kind of a short in the motor itself taking out the PRCB.

After a few times of powering up and watching it spin, I thought I'd better not continue or I'll blow the new PRCB also. M16 is on order. More to follow. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This has been a real old fashioned mind bender. I started out on Mita copiers where you could open up one of those nice 36 x 48 circuit diagrams and follow every wire and circuit trace, without even being in the same county as the copier. Sans a good circuit diagram, I've resorted to holding the power supply up to a bright light, following the traces, and drawing "maps" of the component configuration. =^..^=

The combination of the PRCB, color drum motor, and firmware brought it back. A gradation brought back the copy quality. It would have been even better it it hadn't taken 4 calls to conclude.

I mis-spoke in the first post: it's a color drum motor, not color developer motor.
