check the iu connector. I have seen customers slam the iu's and toner so hard they short the connectors out. I believe it was the same type of code (different color). p.s. this is a pain to replace.

That was the first thing I checked. They all turn easy. The motor does not even give a twitch during initialization with my thumb on the flywheel. Thanks for taking the time to read my diatribe. =^..^=

This all starts with a "Toner Waste Container is Missing." message on a bizhub C452.

The customer did me the favor of busting off the flag on the lower right corner of the waste bottle. No sweat, right? Wrong. Now it's a C-2253 error. That's a color developing motor error for those of you following along. It occurs during initialization or if reset by front door.

So I track the voltages back:
    color developing motor M16: CN1-8 and CN1-9: no 24vdc
    On PRCB:
    connection for M16: CN3-2 and CN3-4: still no 24vdc
    ICP13: fuse closed/good
24vdc from power supply: CN1-1 and CN1-2: still no 24vdc
    On Power Supply (A0P0 R704 11):
    24vdc from power supply: PJ005-1 and PJ005-2: still no 24vdc (also absent at PJ005-3, PJ005-5, PJ005-9, PJ005-10)
enabled by relay RL801 and RL803, PJ008-12 (DRIVE_RY_REM) and PJ008-14 (INTER_LOCK_SW): 24.8vdc pin 12 to frame ground, pin 14 does not go to ground.
    On PRCB:
enabled by relay RL801 and RL803 on Power Supply, CN7-3 (DRIVE_RY_REM) and CN7-1 (INTER_LOCK_SW): 24.8vdc pin 3 to frame ground, pin 1 does not go to ground.

I don't think that I can track this any further back into the PRCB. Do you think it's a PRCB problem? The thing that's got me wondering is the signal (INTER_LOCK_SW). This couldn't come down to an open interlock could it? I've checked the front doors, three on the right side, paper deck right door. Have I missed any?

I've tried the power supply, no change. I unplugged PJ005 to see if 24vdc returned (possible short?), no change. Since other 24vdc lines are working I removed individual pins PJ005-1, PJ005-3, PJ005-5, PJ005-9, PJ005-10, one at a time to see if I could remove a short, no change. I've removed the other 24vdc connectors, then it asks for imaging units.

    Any thoughts? =^..^=

Actually it could be as simple as one of the dev. units are clogged. Had this happen on a C550 the shutter broke of the dev. unit, was partially closed, toner backed up. it threw a code.
