C451 with c2557

Clacking noise from cyan hopper and getting c2557. Is this a bad hopper? Seems If we leave cyan toner out it works a bit until it asks for toner.

could be something as simple as the toner supply motor or toner shutter..... C2557 (K TCR low density) not cyan. If not--Replace the black IU and pray it's not a problem with the printer control board and that the black IU fixes it.

Ok thanks. Strange that sound is from cyan hopper and if we leave cyan toner out they can use the machine for fax and scan without error.

i will swap out per your suggestion

I had a similar problem with the yellow toner on this model, it kept coming up with the code to say there was no toner in the IU, but it wasn't actually adding toner...it thought the toner hopper was full, it turned out to be the TCR sensor in the toner hopper....which is the same sensor in the thunderbolt series dv units

We've had quite alot of the toner lids on the BK IU break off and not open the latch from the hopper. Can be McGuyver'd, but swapping the IU is your best bet since it usually never gets back to its full potential after several C2557's.
