    C451 black drum problem

Had a clicking noise and found it was a bad drum for black. We swapped it with new one for client and now the new one is building up mounds of toner on rear left portion, and the clicking noise is coming back!

    Any idea why?

    thanks

rear left sounds like a used toner auger blockage or (clicking) the gears are slipping that drive the transfer belt on that end. There is an update on gears and bracket.

Do you have the updated part numbers or bulletin you can send me?

      Thanks

Do you have the FOC black IU holding plate installed? It fixes a problem that causes toner dumping.

No one? Nobody has a plate they can spare? No one has specs or measurements so we can make one?

                    Beuller? Beuller?

these were being handed out by the million by km for free.

as far as im aware they are still free, I still have more than 25 i will never use.

btw, its not the be all and end all fix for failing c451 black imaging units.

i've had machines kill the black imaging unit once a week, only to end up replacing the HV1 board to cure the problem. even then you can change everything including both hv boards, the laser, the belt and black iu and it still happens. (with the plate of course) then its time to roll the machine off the nearest jetty into the ocean. At a grand a pop it starts geting expensive fast.

Can someone show me how this plate is fitted to the black IU, I have a couple but can't figure out where it goes!

It may be that the K hopper seal needs replacing. I have replaced many on C451/550/650 with high click.
