Things are not so easy as you might believe. I can guarantee that you won't make this CF card working. Why do you want to upgrade the firmware in first place?
Its been a while but Ive done it with and without FW upgrade. What are the symptoms of your NVRAM problems? You do realize some are not recoverable?
Of course I understand .
With the firmware I solved the imaging unit (black) , misdeed of paper (no 2) and small electrical and noise problems.
The only one left now is the touchscreen.Although the buttons of the panel are working properly it didn't came back with the firmware update .
i cannot do trouble reset (Really is there a warm reset button in c252 like c250? - inside the sd slot)
The Nvram recovery file is checksum16?
Once again thanks

I want to reflash the NVRAM because the machine never starts. At first runs displaying the sandglass and after that the screen switch off. I have readen that is for a corrupt NVRAM. Am I wrong?
NVRAM reset is the only procedure to unlock the copier. After this operation, you should expect 'impossible' counters (negatives and / or millions of copies counted).

The hour glass is from what I remember is one of the fatal errors, IE: Not repairable most of the time. As far as the control panel touch screen goes replace it if you get the thing going again. Try reloading firmware, cant hurt. Here in the states C250's/252's are dirt cheap and can be picked up as running machines from most wholesalers for a song so parts are plentiful if you need them.

Order a new touch panel, there after market now and inexpensive plus they last well compared to the original screwed up OEM part. They used the wrong epoxy on some panels so they swell up and no longer respond to touch. You can take the touch panel off the rest of the assembly and heat it with a heat gun or bad ass blow dryer then on a flat surface place a heavy flat object on the panel (while still hot) for a few minutes and it will probably work again for a short period. It does work done it numerous times in a jam.
