    c351 bottom fuser roller stripped

hello! - new here, but i've read a few helpful tips from people on here, so i thought i'd ask here

today a STUPID customer gave me some paper to copy onto, but it had a sheet of plastic hidden in the ream - as a result, the plastic melted and has stripped the bottom roller - rubber all over the place!

any ideas where i can purchase a new roller? - are they difficult to fit?

    many thanks in advance

The fuser is a field replaceable unit. You can not order the roller. You will have to replace the whole unit

That was a costly mistake. You do have to replace the fuser and man they are not cheap!

          many thanks for the replies!

luckily, a friend of a friend has a spare fuser unit lying around, which he's willing to bung in the machine, for some *beer* money.

still FURIOUS with the customer mind!

You can replace the pressure roller if you get one out of another (wrecked) fuser unit - say, one with a stuffed upper roller. They are a pain to pull apart and reassemble, though. Don't chuck the old one away - you may be able to use parts out of it later.
