    Bizhub - dry lubricant?

    Hi guys

    Thought id start another thread.
Need advice on the right dry lubricant to silence a C552 fuser / exit gear rollers..

Service/repair manual suggest drysurf. yet can't seem to find it anywhere.

As suggested in another thread. Ive set the printer to:
    Code:
    low power mode 15 minutes
    sleep mode 90 minutes
return to low power mode "immediately" NOT "normal"
Just need to find the right lubricant without buying something wrong.. like WD40 which will eat plastic

    So any advice?
or will the following be ok to use...

Dupont best? as its rated to 250c?

I had a little bottle of that Drysurf stuff that came with a mod a couple years ago. Once I found it didn't really fix it, I threw it in the trash can..

You can try high temp grease of some kind, might work for a while. I was told NOT to grease gears because debris collects in the teeth and chews them up.

I would just replace the fuser. You can file a warranty claim on KMBS site.

I just use fuser silicone oil..applied with the tip of a watchmakers screwdriver, does the job just as well.

This is a refurb printer. so i guess warranty is n/a

as for fuser, i think its newish

the noise is mostly coming from the exit rollers.
and there is a noise from the fuser, when it moves up and down. sounds like a dying cow lol

as for collecting debris. i guess a dry telon lub would be best? but was just after some advice first. last thing i want is the lub to eat away at any plastic

Regards the dying cow, could you record it and bang it on youtube. I really wanna hear it. The pressure welding noise is I'd say normal.

well i could try any lub. i just thought it needed to be dry lub?. because its near fuser and wet stuff will prob attract dirt and go hard from heat.

                think i'll source

Open the right side door, on the top of this door is where some of the noise originates, remove 1 sensor and 1 screw, and the whole assy comes off. You have 2 screws that hold the driven rollers to the drive rollers, remove these, and pull the shaft out of the driven rollers. Clean/lubricate the shaft and inside of the white driven rollers. Also remove and clean/lubricate the 2 gears and shaft that drive the rollers. Re-assemble and test for the noise. If it's gone then great. If not then you may want to invest in having a tech come out and pull the fuser drive and eject assemblies as these are a little harder to get back together correctly. Emujo

The only way you will silence a c552 fuser is with a rather large bucket of epoxy.
If it moves it will squeak.

                        Bizhub - dry lubricant?

Can you record the area of fuser it comes from?
Is it for sure fuser? How about ITB drive?i

Is it a fast interrupted sound as if a mouse is having a wank or semi-continuous fat cat trapped in cat flap?

one of my favorite bulletins, actually has sound samples to identify where the noise is coming from.
                            enjoy.

But I have to agree that it is not a long term solution to the noise. Your best chance of success is to install a new fuser and reduce the fusing temperature 5C or 10C. Also decrease your energy saver timer to as short as the customer will tolerate (preferably 5minutes or less).

It will still come back, but take longer. =^..^=

                              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
