[CQ] TASKalfa 4550Ci - Diagonal line on prints

    Hi

We have a 4550Ci, which, when on runs starts to give a dirty line running across the prints. The line is not straight, it runs diagonally/deviates across the page. It doesnt appear in the same location on every page. Paper is fed short edge first.

If you run 8,10 or 15 pages off, its fine, it only shows up on a print run.

Haven't been out to investigate yet, just wondering if anyone has seen this before?

    Thanks

    J

Will certainly have a look. But I think if it was drum or blade then the line would be running straight across the page and always in the same position.

Please check your Fuser Unit to see if the heat roller is damaged. also if there is a built up of toner between the Drum and Developer unit it can cause the that image quailty as well, but it has to be a Consumable Item thats damaged. DK, DV, FK check all.

Or a long human hair wrapped around the charge roller or dev mag roller. Seen that more on the 255/305 models but since your line is moving that's my first thought.

It doesn't make sense. For these reasons:

              1) If it were scan related like a dirty slit glass, then either the original image would be equally skewed or the anomaly would be straight in the feed direction.
              2) If it were drum related the maximum length of the anomaly would be 126mm. A LTR-R page is 279mm, or an A4-R page is 297mm. A drum related anomaly would give you two full repetitions of the flaw.
              3) If it were a charge roller related issue the maximum length of the anomaly would be 26mm, or 11 repetitions on a LTR-R or A4-R page.

Here's my guess: Enduser #1 copied a blank original. The paper guides in that tray were set loosely ... let's say 279mm length by 230mm width. The paper skewed. Then enduser #1 examined the "blank" page, and not wanting to waste paper, put it back into the tray face up. Later enduser #2 copies onto that same piece of paper a second time. Personally I think this is a one time thing that you won't be able to repeat.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I already had this cause a paper fiber was stuck to the sleeve roller.
                This caused irregular lines.
                Else blackcat got it.

I've seen this one time at the 3550ci, hair/dustball in the black develop unit.
