    M3550idn jamming in the adf

    M3550IDN JAMMING IN THE ADF

    paper jams as it tries to make the curve to move over the white strip above the slit glass... the section towards the front makes it in but the back section sticks out and jams...

    1. I checked the path... nothing in the path at all no papers no tape... no tabs nothing...
    I took out the for screws holding the adf gears and such down... pulled it out... and pried out the exit section on the bottom... no tape lodged in their...

    the best i can figure... its either a solenoid thats bad that flips for duplex that has gone bad... possibly or it is the whole adf thats twisted or the hinge close to the slit glass has gone bad... the hinge is lose... it does not sit flat...

    I am going to do some research tell me what you guys think I should try next... if I come up with a solution I will let you know...

      The hinges are just plastic so you've probably got one busted. We've changed several and keep them in stock.

          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                          Hi all!
                          Got same issue with Ricoh MP 501 (different label, same machine) and with help of college found - that issue was with hinges, same symptoms: clear paper path and paper just can't get curled correctly during movement when it's close to glass.

                              I would exhaust all resources before assuming a Kyocera solenoid is bad. Kyocera has the least non-consumable failures of any brand.

                                      I said least not zero. Plus those clutch issues aren't "out of the box " bad. Usually high copy count.
