scan.pdf I was called out for sporadic black images ( I have attached a photo), the customer stated it is sporadic. Upon arrival I printed out a maintenance report and the first two pages came out like the above attached image and the rest of the report came out good. I made a test copy from the glass and the fist 2 copies came out black and the rest were fine. The count on the maintenance kit is roughly 185k, the customer only uses OEM toner 1) I checked wall voltage and ground- good 2) I removed and cleaned charge corona unit and all contacts, 3) I cleaned the edge of the drum unit where it seems toner was building up 4) I cleaned transfer roller assembly and tested. It seems the copier is working at this time since I cleaned everything at this point. My question- I was wondering if Kyocera put a bulletin out for an updated corona unit for this series? I remember a tech bulletin a being posted about an updated corona unit but I can't seem to locate it. Thank you in advance. The paper is set up to run 8x11 though the MFP.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Kyocera TA420i sporadic black pages
Thank you, Blackcat, I will look for pin holes on the drum surface.... I hope I don't find any. If there are, do you think they will cause issues as far as copy quality or possibly more arcing after I replace the charge corona unit?Comment

Re: Kyocera TA420i sporadic black pages
If there are pinholes, you'll see them as white specks on black background or black specks on white background. You will not be able to see anything on the drum surface. It's strictly an electrical phenomenon, nothing visible on the surface. If you can live with the specks, they will not cause an arcing problem by themselves, as long as the charge unit is new. Did I explain that clearly? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
