    FS-1120D, grey background.

    Since I'm a KonicaMinolta guy I do not have experience with Kyocera printers. Customer has a FS-1120D with 75K on the clock having a slight gray background. Since the drum has a lot of grooves I'm going to replace that anyway but would like to know what would be advisable to replace at the same time as well.

      background could be from non oem toner replace developer unit and check feed rollers.

          Primary charge is the biggest flaw in the tabletop printers. Often just changing the primary is enough. But if you are seeing wear on the drum, yes, replace the drum/charge assembly. Feed rollers are rated for 120K but rarely make it. At 75K your rollers could be toast. =^..^=
          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              theres a firmware tech bulletin on this,upgrade firmware,while powering up from sleep mode dev bias voltage was out,have had a lot of compatible toners

              also causing background,hence new dev unit or vacum out,if 75k maintenance kit develeper and drum change as they are changed around 100k anyway.

                  Thanks but I don't get it. OK, English is not my native language but still.......

                  When I get the MK-160 Maintenance kit does it contain a drum unit and a developing unit and has the latter developer in it already? With other words, do I need more to cover the grey background issue?

                  ..... and Cat you're right. The feed rollers look like a polished mirror. Time for KonicaMinolta tires.

                      Kyocera monochrome printers are monocomponent. The developing unit will be empty. You run a simulation to fill it with toner. Don't be surprised if you have to install another toner. The dev will suck up most of a toner cartridge. =^..^=
