Could never figure out why some parts you think will be expensive aren't and things you think are cheap are expensive. Most of the time it is plastic parts!

Anytime I've ever wondered that I had to remind myself: 'try to make one.'

The cost to make a mold and manufacture parts is expensive. Order a torque limiter for the paper feed units on a 45 or 55 ppm Alphard I or II.
        Hope that helps !

Needed my 1st Hard Drive and they wanted approx. $250.00 and a 2G memory stick is ridiculous. Luckily you can get these elsewhere.

Yeah. I can see cost justification for having to machine molds for specific plastic components, but there's no reason to mark up a standard SATA 7200RPM HDD (for anything other than overhead). It's gouging at some point.

We had a load of brand new ak731 attachment kits sent back from a customer with the intention of using them in new pre installs. Some of the panels were scratched, we was informed by our managers that once we had ordered a few panels the cost was more that a new attachment kit.

It's Kyocera's way of saying 'Stop breaking our machines'.
