[CQ] TA 356ci Lines on first prints

    Hi Guys

Having a problem with lines on a TA 356ci

    I have attached an example TA365ci Example.pdf

Really bad on first print out then gets better,
We have pulled the machine to workshop for investigating and are getting the same issue here

This is on a virtually new machine so far we have changed...
    Primary Transfer Belt
    Secondary Transfer Roller
    All Drums
    Update FW
We are in the process of changing the LSU as i type (will update)
The marks align perfectly with ID sensors , it looks like the transfer belt is not cleaning the id patches off .
Very Strange one this and this is a first for us so hoping some of you guys have experienced this .

May I ask why you are changing so many parts up front? It is a new machine and looks as a transfer cleaning issue. I would look into that area a bit more before throwing any more parts at it.

You're doing way too much work. Check the two springs that make connection with the two points on the primary belt. These charge the metal roller inside the primary cleaning unit to pull the toner off the belt. I'm guessing you're also getting error codes like C7620. I had an M6525cidn that was doing the same thing. The spring was evidently missing from the factory.

thanks for that i will check springs inside the machine , we haven't had any error codes mind.

We have pulled the machine to the workshop and can use the Showroom machine to quickly swap parts over, its very convenient.

This is a new machine so can be sent back if needed but i would like to know whats causing the issue as i have never seen this before.

          Fixed

tmaged you were bang on with the spring.

Both springs were present but the right hand one came away missing the transfer contact.

Unusual symptom but like you said the bias is to aid cleaning and therefore not cleaning the ID patches efficiently.

Thank you so much for your help

Glad that fixed it for you. It took me a little bit of looking at the M6525cidn to figure out exactly how it worked & what it was trying to accomplish.
We're coming to London this summer for vacation, you can buy me a drink.
            Hope that helps !
