    CS 5500 with a J6511

Hello all so I have this finisher wadding up paper when in staple mode J6511. I have replaced the metal sensor bracket, the side guides, and the black plastic guide with the new spring and white pieces, and also the clear guide. It worked fine for me but the next day they were again having issues, so unless there are any other updates that I have missed I am at a loss.

Does it only occur when using the staple mode? The J6511 [1000 sheet finisher] just means the bundle was not ejected. Is the job stapled properly or not at all? Had one a while ago were there was a staple stuck at the end of the cartridge and would occasionally catch the edge of the stack causing a jam. Take a look at the stapling assembly, it may not be operating properly.

I've traced almost all finisher jams back to the AK-730 exit unit. Make sure it has bearing & not brass bushings. The bushings slow the page down, even if you clean them all, so you'll get a variety of finisher jams. Believe me, I did everything possible to figure this out.
      Hope that helps !

          Thanks for the reply,

If I had to guess it has the bushings, but I will look next time out. I hate to ask but what bushing number is the replacement.

There is not retrofit. It's an assembly. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We had this at one place intermittently. We could never get it to jam while we were on site. The customer had cheap paper so we decided to try turning the paper to landscape orientation. The customer upgraded their machine in the next few months but never had another issue with J6511 jams and paper folding over onto itself before stapling.

My guess is the paper had enough curl to either fold over onto itself or hit something when being fed back into the stack to be stapled.

Okay so both relay exit sections had the bronze bushings, and now both are replaced with new style with bearings. Thanks for everyone's help.
