    Kyo M6535cidn Black drum marks

Same machine, two K drums in the 2 months.

Last time I replaced the K drum and K dev unit as a precaution.

Customer calls for blacks marks on page, two little repeating dashes.

I take the drum out of there is are two white scuff marks on the drum. They clean off, although I left it alone for warranty reasons. They line up with a premature lines on the charge roller.

The scuffs on the drum definitely white in color. Anybody see this before? This machine design is nothing new, so I hope it's a known issue.

    Thanks in advance.

I Have pics but the upload feature doesn't seem to function right now. I will try again later

It's the same issue as the 305ci & 356ci's are experiencing. H139 is the bulletin.
    Hope that helps !

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

One of our techs had to replace a black drum on a 6535cidn. I think it was for this same problem. When the new drum was installed the machine threw a c7901 (drum unit K eeprom error). Reinstalled old drum and code went away. He is going back with another new drum.

I've heard a couple different theories:

          1) that it's a component of the toner
          2) that it's dusting powder from the drum blade and/or the transfer blade

I don't have any evidence one way or the other. I can tell you that whatever it is cleans off with paraffin lamp oil, followed by an alcohol rinse. Whatever it is appears the same gray color as the buildup on the primary roller (maybe the same?). This was the third drum in 50K images, all with the same issue. It's OEM toner. No other extraneous issues with this machine.

You can see where I cleaned a patch 25m wide, the full length of the drum. =^..^=

                Thanks!

But seriously, Kyocera needs to do something about their bulletin search. This is literally how the bulletin comes back when I searched "H139" what cryptic garbage. You would think DEFECTIVE DRUMS could earn a bulletin spot on the machine's main resource page.

try using some " Nu-Finish" car polish on the charge roller.. apply and buff off two times... it make the print bolder and keeps the charge roller from building up again....

some ricoh drums were supposed to last 100k ( K&color) they were only making it 30-50k until I showed the boss this trick... saved him money and I got a lil spiff in my next paycheck.

I'm seeing this issue also on the TA306ci and didn't know about the bulletin. I ordered a replacement drum nearly a month ago and is on backorder until 11/17.

you can scratch those things off with finger nail with paper covering carefully. done it too many times.

The worst is the developer on those things, comet dropping like the 250ci, hopeless.
Idling colour developers are not healthy developers.
