    TASKalfa 250ci white stripes

    Hi Guys,

I have a problem with a TA250ci: scans has a white stripe. Both from the glass and from DP.

I already clean glass, and clean mirrors (without removing the lamp unit).

    What do you think?
    Check the scan in attachment.

    Thank you in advance,
    Kyove

Is this with the flatbed, the document feeder, or both?

I suspect it too but i've never found a broken ccd in my life.

I do not know what symptoms it can give.

        Maybe it's only dirty?
How can I clean it without damage?

What do internal prints look like (U089)?
If you scan to a PC or USB drive and look at the image is the white stripe there as well?

            U089 is fine!

Scans to PC has the same white stripe in same position.

              I
would look inside the optics cavity for a small piece of fuzz or junk that is blocking the image to the ccd. since internal prints are working has to be in the optics.

Pull the platen glass out, flip it over, and make sure the white reference plate at the left side (at it sits in the copier) is perfectly white all the way across; it may be stained or have something stuck to it. Also check your optics to make sure they are clean and nothing is blocking any part of the optical path.

You might have a smudge on the white reference. When the scanner adjusts the shading, it tries to make that dark spot the white reference for that section, lightening up anything in that line of the scan.

Also a small fuzz ball on the mirrors or lens can do this.

I really doubt that it has anything to the CCD, but it probably would do no harm to re-seat the cables to the CCD (with the power off, and respecting the sensitive nature of ribbon cables and connectors).

Dear BlackCat you always have the solution: there was dirty on the white reference.

                    Thank you so much!!!!!

                    Problem solved.
