    task alfa 4551ci print quality

I have an issue... if you print all the internal prints... they look perfect...
if you send it from a pc the blues look greyish...

I am thinking of replacing drums and developers...

but I have a strange feeling its a print driver problem...

I am checking with you guys here to see if anyone faced a similar issue on a kyocera...

no background nothing strange... it just prints a bit off... greyish...
there is another kyocera copier a 4052ci and the colors come out perfect... when you print...
regarding the 4551ci customer showed me a print from last week and the blue was reddish...

I ran grey scale and calibration and did drum, developer refresh and laser scanner cleaning... color still greyish just made the prints overall more vivid... but blue still greyish...

If internal prints are coming out fine, it is not a print engine problem, ie drums/devs. As already suggested make sure you are using the latest print driver. Is the off color printing coming from one user or multiple users? If it is one user, check to see if that user has not changed their color profile in Windows or the program they are using to print the color pages. Print driver/program settings will over-ride and default settings in the unit.

Compare the print from USB to the print from PC. Samples? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Look at the customer with your eyes crossed and say 'looks fine to me'.

I often do an image adjustment or color calibration when ever I visit a Kyocera machine. Definitely whenever I have to crack open the machine.

An easy way to do color calibration is to go to U952 and do the Setup list. U952 lets you do calibration in the right order without have to hunt around for the steps.

Also, when you get a drum, developer, fuser, or even a maintenance kit, there will be an A4 sheet with the title Details of adjustments following unit replacement. The second part is Image adjustment. Before I started using U952 I would follow the image adjustment when ever I deep cleaned the machine or optics or changed or cleaned the charger roller(s). I keep a copy in my tool kit. I have also attached a copy here.

With many of the quality problems that I have come across with these machines, doing the above first has saved me a ton of time and keeps the customer is happy.

We tend to forget with all the microprocessing that going on in faster and smaller CPUs on the equipment, how difficult the xerographic color processes really is. There's a lotta stuff going on.

when asking for advise, and the problem was solved, it would be nice if the OP would:

                    provide samples of the issue

when finding the 'fix' PLEASE post the steps taken to clear the issue.

when people provide rational advise, the OP should like/thank the commentator for the suggestions ( boosts reputation power ) *** this is the way the OP gets points also ***

He also failed to mention if the prints on the U034 were normal or if they looked off as well

u034 was perfect... I wanted to rule out the print driver... so I sent our IT person and he told me that whatever I did fixed the issue... must have taken some time to kick in...

all I did when I was there was perform the drum, developer refreshes... laser scanner cleaning...

the only thing I was thinking of trying after that would be to do calibrations recommended in this thread and do high altitude adjustment after that... a long time ago I had a similar issue and high altitude adjustment fixed it...

well thats my two cents... sorry about not getting back to you guys... and merry christmas...

and thanks for all your help...
