ADF on CS-2550 stopped picking up sheets it acts like there is no power

    ADF on CS-2550 stopped picking up sheets it acts like there is no power

    The ADF on a CS-2550 has stopped picking up the paper from the ADF. Its acting like there is no power to the adf. I have checked to see if the flag to indicate the paper was inserted and it is working.

    I think the adf model is a DP-410. I have been unable to find a service manual for it although I did have the parts list on my truck.

    Any Ideas where to start. If it was attempting to pickup paper. In the past if i sanded that area or replaced the separation pad with no problems however this has me stumped.

    The CS-2550 has system firmware 2DA_3F00.002.006 Engine Firmware 2FT29107N-0084-0000

    any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. ( also a service manual would be very helpful)

      a little additional info, it stopped in the middle of a user copying pages

      also in Maint Mode item U203, U243& U244 have no effect

          So it's not picking up ... I get that. Does the DF identify that originals are present? Do the rollers rotate? Does the paper move at all? Are there any jam codes or error codes? =^..^=
          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              I'm sorry I thought my statement covered that.

              Acts like no power iment the following:

              1. no it does not identify originals are present.

              2. No the rollers do not rotate.

              3. No the paper does not move at all.

              4. No there are no error codes.

              I'm not trying to be a turkey and I did read the manual and I did go into the service mode however all of the tests that related to that part of the system acted like no power
              Each test failed the motors didn't move and the sensors no activity noticed.

              I hope that clears up the unsaid statements.

                      There were c-codes that disabled the adf. Something to do with static. Months of workarounds with ground wires, foil tape. Eventually they updated the adf board.

                      As above post says 906 should fix it but will come back.

                          If the U906 does not help, check that you have 5vdc and 24vdc at the DF controller. Possibly open or intermittent harness to the DF, or PS? =^..^=

                              U906 did not help. I then checked the DP Driver PCB YC1


                              Pin 1 ground to

                              Pin 2 & Pin 3 both have 24 vdc

                              Pin 16 Does NOT have 5 vdc

                              turns out an intermittent on the 5vdc aka pin 16 on the Connector cord assy. PCB-Interface for the DP-410 Part # 3HK27020

                              as luck would have it we have that for other printers but not this one.
